Now that the new school year has started, I would like to make a reminder. We, as teachers, have a responsability in making sure that our students feel safe and confident in our classrooms.
Beginnings can be difficult for all of us, specially children and teenagers, and sometimes the beginning of a school year can be a sensitive topic for some students. That is why we have to try to make the return to the school as smooth as possible. Keep up the good energy! Getting back to the routine doesn't have to be as boring or annoying as we may think, it can be fun with the right mindset, and we should encourage our students to feel the same way. It may be more work for us at first, but it will definitely be worth it once you start to see that your students come to class with enthusiasm and eager to learn.
